"Lynn Katz has been selected to be the 2024-25 AEESP (Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors Foundation) Distinguished Lecturer. This is among the most prestigious awards in the Environmental Engineering and Sciences field, and Lynn was recognized for a long career with many accomplishments in different areas of Environmental Engineering and Science. Only one person is selected for this award each year from applications submitted worldwide. The list of previous AEESP Distinguished Lecturers reads like a who’s who in the field, and we are so proud to see Lynn receive this recognition." (Benny D. Freeman).

The AEESP provides the following information regarding this award:
 
Each year, the Distinguished Lecturer is selected by the Lecturers Committee of the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP), in recognition of his or her excellence as both a researcher and educator and ability to give engaging oral presentations to members of the environmental engineering community and the general public. The Distinguished Lecturer visits at least 12 institutions and gives at least one talk from two lecture topics.
